Batuu Boot Camp, Take 2 - Prepare to visit Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge June 24 and Beyond

Starting Monday, June 24, 2019, Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge opens to all Disneyland visitors subject only to capacity limits during the park's regular operating hours. That means that all those folks who couldn't pay a visit during the "reservation period" that began with the land's May 31 opening, and are eager for their first look at this galaxy far, far away, will now have their chance to visit along with all those seeking return visits. But, before any of us can grab a glass of blue milk or board the Millennium Falcon, read these tips to learn how to enter the land.
#1 – Download the Disneyland app before you go and link your party
Disneyland will likely use a virtual queue system to control access to Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge during the opening days, weeks, and perhaps even months, depending on demand. The fastest and easiest way for your group to use such a system is to have at least one member of your group download the Disneyland smartphone application, and then link their accounts to the tickets of everyone in your party. This will allow that person to get your entire party into the same boarding group.
If you don't use the Disneyland app, you can still get a boarding group once you're inside Disneyland park—we'll cover that information here.
#2 – The parking plan for June 24
The Disneyland parking lots open at 6:00 a.m. on Monday, June 24, at which time bus and tram service will begin from the Mickey and Friends and Toy Story parking lots. Disneyland Park opens at 8:00 a.m. on June 24, and at least through the end of July.
If you're staying within walking distance of the Disneyland Resort, or plan to take an Uber or Lyft to the parks, there's no point in arriving any earlier because the bag check lines also don't open until 6:00 a.m.
As we've stated before, we know that overnight line-ups are something of a tradition among Star Wars fans (and even some theme park enthusiasts), and that there is definitely a community aspect of such a gathering—but there is no practical reason to hang out for hours on end waiting for the security checkpoints to open. Disneyland is not encouraging fans to come for an overnight line-up, and there won't be any special giveaway or opening moment.
#3 – How do I get into Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge once I'm inside Disneyland?
Early birds:
If you arrive at park opening, look for Disney cast members to lead an orderly procession from the main entrance gates to the entrance of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. Don't just run ahead—the land has three entrances, but not all will be in use at any one time. Visitors will be admitted into Galaxy's Edge until the land reaches capacity, after which time the virtual queue system will be implemented.
Extra Magic Hours / Early Entry:
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge will not open during Extra Magic Hours or Early Entry. If you have access to Extra Magic Hours or Early Entry, you can enter Disneyland before regular park opening, but can not access the land or join a boarding group before other visitors. If you wish to line up to be among the first to enter Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at park opening, check with the cast members to see which entrance will be used that morning.
Later arrivals:
If you arrive after park opening, once you've scanned your ticket for entry and have made it into Disneyland, check the Disneyland app (or in-park signage) to see if the virtual queue system is in use. If not, you can head straight to the land.
If the virtual queue is being used when you arrive, used the Disneyland app to request to join a boarding group. If you link the theme park tickets of everyone in your party together on the app, you can request the same boarding group for your entire party.
If nobody in your group uses the Disneyland app, you can show your park admission ticket to get a boarding group at many Fastpass locations, including the Haunted Mansion, Indiana Jones Adventure, Space Mountain, Splash Mountain or near the Matterhorn Bobsleds.
#4 – I'm in the virtual queue—now what?
Once you've part of a boarding group, you can explore the rest of the Disneyland Resort while you wait for your turn to enter the land. You can use the Disneyland app or check in-park signage to see which boarding group is currently being admitted to the land.
If you use the app and enable push notifications, you 'll get an alert when it's your time to enter Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. You have up to two hours to enter the land after your boarding group is called for admission, so you don't need to leave a show or exit a ride queue when you're called.
#5 – How long do I have to visit Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge once I'm inside?
Starting June 24, there is no limit to how long you can remain on Batuu once you've entered the land—subject to park hours, of course! However, IF the land reaches capacity and IF you leave it after the virtual queue system is implemented, you can not return without joining another boarding group and waiting for your return time.
#6 – How do I get into Oga's Cantina?
Starting June 24, reservations are required to visit Oga's Cantina. You can use the Disneyland app or Disneyland website to book a same-day reservation starting at 7:00 a.m. each day. A valid credit card is required to make the reservation, and you will be assessed a no-show charge if your party does not arrive.
If you make a reservation for Oga's Cantina, you will not need to join the virtual queue if it is in use. Your entire Oga's party can enter Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge up to one hour before the reservation time, but you may not bring more people than are on your Oga's reservation into the land with you. The only reason to join a boarding group is if the virtual queue is in use and you want a chance to enter the land more than an hour before your reservation time.

#7– How do I get into Savi's Workshop
Starting June 24, reservations are also required to visit Savi's Workshop. Again, you can use the Disneyland app or Disneyland website to book a same-day reservation starting at 7:00 a.m. each day. Each light saber builder can bring up to two observer guests with them into the experience.
A valid credit card is required to make the reservation, and the full price of the experience will be charged if your party does not arrive.
If you make a reservation for Savi's Workshop, you will not need to join the virtual queue if it is in use. Your entire party can Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge up to one hour before the reservation time, up to a total of six people - the builder, two observers, and up to three additional guests. The only reason to join a boarding group is if the virtual queue is in use and you want a chance to enter the land more than an hour before your reservation time.

More to consider...
► The Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run attraction will not offer Fastpass for the known future. Since guests will no longer be subject to a limited time in the land, you may see higher wait times here than what folks saw during the weeks when guests were required to have reservations to enter the land.
► Remember that you can use Mobile Order to skip the food ordering lines at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo, Milk Stand, and Ronto Roasters. Your mobile order, however, will not serve as a boarding group, let alone guarantee entry to the land. Since you pay for your food using Mobile Order when you place your order, its best to enter Batuu before placing your order. Remember that admission to Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is subject to capacity and even joining a boarding group does not guarantee entry to the land.
► There is no new information available about when guests will be able to visit the Rise of the Resistance attraction. The Disneyland Resort website still says that it will be "opening later this year."
