Making reservations: Reservations for this tour can be made up to one month in advance by calling (714) 781-4400.
Price: $99 for all participants.
Discounts: A 20% discount is offered for Deluxe and Premium Annual Pass holders, AAA members, and Disney Visa cardholders.
Admission: Separate theme park admission is not required, however, without it you will be escorted from the park at the conclusion of the tour.
Transportation: The tour uses Segway i2's to travel through Disney's California Adventure. Participants must transport themselves to and from the park. Validated free parking is available for tour participants at the Downtown Disney parking lot.
Rain Policy: Tours may be canceled, with a refund, due to inclement weather. Much of this tour is outdoors so dress appropriately for conditions.
Photography Policy: Participants are allowed to bring along cameras that can be safely stored in pockets or backpacks while using a Segway. Photography, however, is only allowed at times and locations indicated by the tour guide.
After the tour: At the conclusion of the tour participants will receive a special tour pin and a photo from the tour. Validation for free parking in the Downtown Disney lot is also provided. Guests without separate park admission will be escorted out of the park.
Time Commitment
Tour length: Approximately three hours.
Day and Time: The tour is offered daily and begins at 7:00 or 7:30 a.m. depending on when the park opens. The tour is held during the hours before park opening which is generally 10:00 a.m.
Basic Itinerary:
— Start time: Participants gather at park's front gate and are led to a conference room inside the park.
— Approximately 30-45 minutes allowed for a continental breakfast in the conference.
— A short instructional video is then shown and the tours itinerary explained.
— Participants are then taken to Hollywood Pictures Backlot for demonstration and training on the use of Segways. About 45 minutes.
— The tour through the park then begins at the Hyperion Theater, to Sunshine Plaza, through the Golden State area (including through the rough terrain of Redwood Creek) and stopping for at break at the Maliboomer in Paradise Pier.
— After the break about 10 minutes is allowed for free exploration of Paradise Pier and then the entire group returns to the starting point using backstage shortcuts.
Access Information
Access issues: This tour has strict weight requirements and participants must be at least 100 pounds and no more than 250 pounds. Participants must be able to maintain balance, and step up onto and of off the Segway. Participants must be able to stand upright for lengthy periods of time.
Walking required: This tour requires minimal walking beyond getting to and from the park.
Parenting Information
Age restrictions: All participants must be at least 16 years old and anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a guardian.
Other issues: Behavior and following instructions for tour guides is particularly important for this tour and while pretty much every participant will feel an urge to showboat at some point, it is probably a good idea to keep a close eye on children's behavior so that nobody gets thrown out of group.
