History and Trivia

  • This Attraction's history: As with the Disneyland Hotel, the Paradise Hotel was not always owned by the Walt Disney Company. Originally built in 1984 by the Emerald Hotels chain, the property operated under that name until that company merged with Pan Pacific Hotels in 1989 and the name was changed accordingly. In December 1995, the Walt Disney Company purchased the property and changed its name again, this time to the Disneyland Pacific Hotel. The property was refurbished to bring it up to Disney standards, but no real theming was added. As part of the resort expansion for Disney's California Adventure the hotel received another refurbishment (though nothing more than some cosmetic theming) and took its current name shortly before the park opened in February 2001.
