Wait Times: There is never really a wait time to get into the tree, though crowds may require waiting for a few minutes at any particular point in the treehouse.

Access Information

Health Restriction: To experience the full attraction will require ascending and descending stair equivelant to a several story climb. Guests with a fear of height may want to avoid this attraction.

Ride Access: The main portion of the treehouse is not at all accessible to wheelchairs or ECVs. There is ramp access to the ground level portion of the treehouse; to used go behind Tarzan's treehouse along the Pirates of the Caribbean building.

Wheelchair Transfer: To visit the main portions of the treehouse, it will be necessary to leave a wheelchair or ECV and walk or climb stairs on your own. The ground floor portion does not require a transfer, though the dirt surface may make navigation difficult.

Audio: There is some audio during in the treehouse but it tends to be atmospheric.

Weight and Size Issues: Should be none though some spaces are on the cramped size they should be large enough for any guest.

Other Issues: There is a panther hidden in the tree that growls and sounds like it is lunging at guests. It can be startling.

History and Trivia

  • At this location: Tarzan's Treehouse replaced Swiss Family Tree House, which opened November 18, 1962 and closed in February 1999. The original attraction, as with the current one was tied to a newly opened movie, 1960's Swiss Family Robinson, and presented various scenes from that movie.
  • The Attraction's History: Tarzan's Treehouse remains mostly unchanged since it opened in 1999.
  • Other Trivia
  • The scientific name: The unofficial scientific name for the tree in which the treehouse sits is Disneyodendron semperflorens grandis, or giant always-blooming Disney tree.
  • Souvenirs: When Swiss Family Tree House closed in 1999, each of the large fake leaves needed to be replaced, so the existing ones were kept and sold as souvenirs.
  • A tribute to the past: Tarzan Treehouse does contain a tribute to Swiss Family Tree House. On the old gramophone in one scene, the music playing is "Swisskapolka."
