History and Trivia

  • At this location: This fast-food counter location first opened on June 19, 1985, under the name Yumz and provided food for those visiting Videopolis which opened at the same time. In 1995 Videopolis was refurbished and it became the Fantasyland Theater. The first show hosted in that theater was The Spirit of Pocahontas and accordingly, on June 23, 1995, Yumz was renamed Meeko's. That name lasted until the close of the Pocahontas show on September 5, 1997. For the next several years various shows played in the theater and in 1998 Meeko's finally reopened as Troubador Treats before closing in 2004 to reopen as Enchanted Cottage Sweets and Treats to accompany the Snow White—An Enchanting Musical stage show.
  • The Restaurant's History: When the Snow White show went permanently dark in September 2006, Enchanted Cottage closed for a month with the theater but remained essentially unchanged when the theater reopened with Disney Princess Fantasy Faire. The location was formerly sponsored by Nestle Ice Cream.
